Amounts owed to the Ministère


A claim for misrepresentation is issued when, in order to obtain sums to which they were not entitled, a person:  

  • Failed to provide information
  • Provided false or misleading information
  • Submitted a false document
  • Made a false or misleading declaration.

Misrepresentation makes the person liable to substantial recovery measures such as:

  • Recovery charges of $100 if the amount claimed is $100 or more
  • Monthly interest charges until the debt is fully repaid
  • Higher withholdings from the financial assistance paid by the MTESS.
