Misrepresentation
A claim for misrepresentation is issued when, in order to obtain sums to which they were not entitled, a person:
- Failed to provide information
- Provided false or misleading information
- Submitted a false document
- Made a false or misleading declaration.
Misrepresentation makes the person liable to substantial recovery measures such as:
- Recovery charges of $100 if the amount claimed is $100 or more
- Monthly interest charges until the debt is fully repaid
- Higher withholdings from the financial assistance paid by the
MTESS.
