General information

The Centre de recouvrement is responsible for recovering amounts that were paid in excess or to someone ineligible by the Ministère under its responsibilities for its various programs and measures, as provide for in title III, chapter II of the Individual and Family Assistance Act.   

Amounts most frequently owed to the Ministère come from last-resort financial assistance paid to:  

• People who weren’t entitled to it
• Immigrants who were sponsored.

Other amounts owed to the Ministère are amounts paid in excess or to someone ineligible as part of:

• Employment-assistance measures and programs
• Measures and programs for businesses
• The Programme alternative jeunesse
• The Programme Objectif Emploi (titre II, chapitre V)
• Specific assistance programs (Title II, Chapter IV)
• The Act respecting the Ministère de l’Emploi et de la Solidarité sociale and the Commission des partenaires du marché du travail
