The Ministère du Travail, de l’Emploi et de la Solidarité sociale has introduced a new flexibility measure to financially assist parents receiving benefits under the Québec Parental Insurance Plan (QPIP) during the COVID-19 epidemic. Under this measure, the withholding of amounts from parental insurance benefits for the repayment of a debt is temporarily suspended.
This measure came into effect on April 20, 2020 for three months and does not require the beneficiaries concerned to take any specific steps.
